Our Poems & Sonnets

Always by Armani McNeil

His eyes are the brown of the nicest shade

Those eyes have the fire of raging flames

But the raging flames always seem to fade

And turn apologetic and shamed

His hair is the shade of the darkest chocolate

His words are chosen with the greatest taste

He knows what to say and what to pocket

He speaks sincere in which his words are laced

It seems like he always wears the perfect clothes

His style isn’t popular but cool

He always says the right things he just knows

He always wears straight legs that always rule

He seems like the perfect person to me

The perfect person he was made to be

Sonnet by Nancy Tra

This poem might not make a lot of sense

But I will try my best to make it work

My stress of this has caused me to be tense

Whoever made sonnets is called a jerk

I do not care if Shakespeare made it up

I just shall leave it up to him for now

While I go serve the table and cups

Because this sonnet makes no sense for now

But you will eventually know why

I hate to write in such a boring form

Confusion really makes me want to cry

But sonnet makes me really think some more

So hopefully you understand my grief

And continue to pass my disbelief

Untitled by Adam Vegas

I had a dream about my own demise

My friend Mercutio tried to explain

He told me of Queen Mab, a big surprise!

She was a fairy who caused only pain

So now I stop dreaming but I still hope

Then I met a girl who was like a dove

Her eyes are bright moons that don’t overscope

She looked like an angel from up above

But alas, she is a Capulet spawn

And my only crime was to love not hate

So this is not the end but a new dawn

And in this cruel fate I’ll participate

With love I can end my old hated foe

But I could be wrong, I don’t really know

Romeo’s Journal by Armani McNeil

(not a sonnet, but a wonderful poem all the same)

I cannot belive I found a new love

But she was as beautiful as a dove

For I thought I would never love again

For Benvolio had my heart to mend

For he was truely and utterly right

My eternal night has become so bright

I love the daughter of my father’s foe

We have to be together for I know

I truely believe in love at first sight

I knew I found true love on that very night
